Garry tailored this tour for me based on our conversation prior to setting out. I got much more from the experience than I would have imagined. I gained a new comfort using my prime lens and a better understanding of trying to develop my own photography philosophy. Everything about the experience was awesome, the weather, the personal touch, and the genuine interest Garry has for his clients. I would recommend this tour to anyone who is trying to get out of your comfort zone as a photographer. Garry truly brought me out of mine. After the lesson, I was able to approach three individuals to take their picture. Garry not only teaches you about photography fundamentals, he also teaches you how to make connections with your subjects. As the tour ended, we went to a bookstore and I was able to purchase his book "Souls of San Francisco," a real treat for me. This will be a constant reminder for me on how to not only get out of your comfort zone, but connect with others as well. I HIGHLY recommend this tour to anyone who wants to step out of their comfort zone and strive to be a better photographer.
I booked the Intro to Reykjavik with Samuel and it lived up to my expectations. Samuel is very knowledgeable about the city and truly shows an enthusiasm for his adopted home. Taking this tour is a great introduction to the city and sets you up for great exploration of the city on your own. While on the tour, Samuel ran into several of his friends--again indicative of him becoming one with his new country as well as a constant reminder of how small Reykjavik is. Samuel offered recommendations on what to do in Iceland as well as where to shop (supermarkets and convenience stores were a life-saver). A few days later, we ran into him on the street and he took the time to see how we were doing and offered his assistance if we needed it for anything. I would highly recommend taking this tour or any tour that Samuel leads because his enthusiasm about Reykjavik is contagious.
I was fortunate enough to take the Paris Photo Walking Tour in the day, followed by the Paris Night Photography Tour the same evening. I highly recommend taking both--maybe not on the same day because it is a lot of walking. If you are not into walking, still take both, but split them up. Having said that, it was an AWESOME experience. Alexander is a great teacher and the lessons from one course flow into the next. I was fortunate enough to take pictures on Bastille Day in the day and the fireworks at night. Alexander helped to make my visit to Paris a memorable one! Alexander is passionate about his craft and makes you want to do better. He also takes the time to get to learn a little about you and shares quite a bit about himself as well. I HIGHLY recommend this tour to anyone who wants to get better at night photography. After this experience, I want to take more shots at night. Thanks for the memorable experience, Alexander!
I took part in the Paris Walking Tour on Bastille Day! What a memorable experience! Alexander is the ultimate professional and a great teacher. It was my good fortune that we had the same camera so it made the instruction even better. Alexander was very flexible and took the time to explain simple and complex photography concepts. He not only took the time to learn a little about you, he shares a little of himself. The walk was truly at my pace and I would HIGHLY recommend the Paris Photography Walking Tour to anyone who not only wants to learn a little about Paris, but capture the experience as well. I believe that this experience will translate into me becoming a better photographer in the future.
I was fortunate to take the Hidden Gems of San Antonio tour. One of the big things that interested me was getting to see more of the City that was not the Alamo. I can say that Vayable certainly fit the bill in this regard. I was not familiar with the Missions of San Antonio and this tour provided a wonderful opportunity for me to photograph them. The only negative thing that I could say about the tour was that the tour guide's driving and cleanliness of his vehicle left something to be desired (I do know that he was filling in for someone else at the last minute). My friend on the tour was a native of San Antonio and in her opinion she thought that he could have provided a bit more detail into the history of some of the things that he pointed out. In all, I was satisfied with the tour and I would definitely use Vayable again. If I had to rank it, I would give it four out of five stars.
