I really enjoyed my tour with Sakhr. To describe him I’d say he is a passionate foodie who stays on the cutting edge of the London culinary scene seeking out the best of the best. He showed me an impeccably curated and tasty view of London that I had no idea existed. For example, instead of checking out Borough Market – a destination packed with tourists that you’ll find in every guidebook - he showed me a new burgeoning market just around the corner. The market was an eclectic mix of top-notch street food that blew me away. From silky coffee beverages and fresh-out-of-the-oven donuts to sashimi-like smoked salmon, fresh lobster and Cornish beef cooked over an open flame and gourmet cocktails, I was in heaven. And I just loved how it seemed that I was the only non-Londoner there. Beyond being my own personal ambassador to the best and surprisingly inexpensive food in London, Sakhr provided a wealth of information about the city. He also happens to be a really great guy. I highly recommend his tours.

Kate T. for The Fake Hipster Tour

I LOVED my tour with Matthew. He took me to a street food event I would have never found on my own. And it was dripping with interesting culture and food to take in. First of all, we were in a neighborhood that Matthew calls a hipster epicenter. The people-watching was seriously amusing. And I would describe the food as being inspired. Pork belly buns, Jamaican fare, pizza out of a wood-burning oven, whole fish grilled Caribbean-style, gourmet cupcakes, bbq sandwiches with intense hot sauce that gets everywhere - it was a delicious, trendy and globe-trotting experience right in London. I am pretty sure I was the only non-Londoner there, and the place was packed. On top of that, Matthew’s encyclopedic knowledge of the city makes his tours quite rounded, giving an exciting local experience along with lots of context. Overall, Matthew gives a really great tour – it feels like you are just hanging with a friend who wants to show you a great time. I am not sure what could be better when traveling!! I highly recommend his tours!

Kathryn is quite the vintage fashionista! She took me to various vintage shops around the city each with it’s own flare and focus. I would have never found these little places on my own. And I felt like I got a real local experience. Kathryn also helped me find a great jacket that I just love and have now worn over and over again! Thanks Kathryn.

What is there to say? Kate is just a wonderful traveller and a fascinating person. She's eager to learn about the city through a local's eyes - and by showing her my city, I find myself learning about it in the process. Kate is also working on a really interesting project, TravelWithKate.com, where she posts videos of her trips. I took Kate on two tours, and I can't wait for her to come back to London so I can show her more of this amazing city. Kate - you're welcome back anytime.

Loved my afternoon with Kate. She was not only an explorer, but a videographer and I got to star in some of the footage. Fame a last?! Kate was really keen to understand the "middle layer" of London and all the things that make the place tick - the things that tourists / travellers often oversee. I packed a lot in to our schedule and despite both of us being in need of a nana nap by the end, Kate embraced her Vayable tour with both hands...and a tripod.
