I had a great day with Yaya! She tailored the trip to my likes and we spent about 5 hours in the Historico. This was not a factoid tour with pushy history lessons…I felt like I learned an insider's view and history of the city, with special stops along the way. She's genuinely a great person to hang out with and it was like hanging with a new friend in town. I hadn't been to DF before so she allowed me to ask any questions I had, from safety/cabs to where cool places to eat/visit are. Definitely a great trip if you are solo.

Rodgrigo was a great guide and not only took me to great places to eat, he also shared the history of Roma. There were 7 stops on the tour and it took about 3 hours. All of the stops were surprising in one way or another. I learned what a Tlayuderia was, drank local beer, visited a trendy organic food store, had amazing fish tacos, drank wine+ate in a back room at a French store/restaurant that I would easily have missed, and ended the trip in Roma's new market, where I had an espresso and some unbelievable chocolate. This trip is not to be missed. Just the right amount of food+drink, just the right time, just the right tour.

Tom was a delight to spend time with. He is well-travelled, knowledgeable about food and fun to be with. I would eat with him anywhere!

From our guide Yaya in Mexico City: Starting our tour in Col. Roma, I immediately became aware that Tom was an experienced traveler. Having its benefits to being more open to eating new foods, taking back streets and not being afraid of the chaos of the largest city in the world. Tom was a great companion, we talked about our work, family, and our experiences in other countries. We ate traditional food from a Mercado, Esquites (grilled corn) Pambazo (sub sandwich). We traveled in the subway to down town Historic Center there we saw a number of things, Murals of Diego Rivera, the Metropolitan Cathedral, New projects like Down Town a renovated colonial building with boutiques and bars and restaurants. Finishing the day we sat and people watched in the Salon Corona had a drink and ate a Turkey Torta and tacos de Romeritos (shrimp and mole). All in all the perfect way to spend a day at work getting to know a stranger, telling the history of Mexico and showing them your city.
