Under the expert tutelage of an ex-National Geographic editor / professional photographer this is a perfect opportunity to help you improve your photography in a short time.

One of the many aspects of Istanbul that make it a popular destination for photographers is its incredible diversity. Depending on the day of the week you may find yourself accompanying your guide as you experience the open air markets including junk markets, bird market etc., enter small workshops located inside Middle Age caravanserais or drink tea with locals. You may be lucky enough to join a local wedding, circumcision ceremony whilst discovering some of the most ethnically diverse and colorful areas of Istanbul.

During your experience, you will learn how to approach people to take their photographs with your instructor on-hand to provide immediate assistance and advice. You will have plenty of time to discuss composition, equipment and approach with your multi-lingual guide.

Since this experience is not exactly for beginners, at least you are expected to know how to use your camera. However, a two hour crash course on photography before the tour is possible with an extra fee.

If you'd like to take your photography and communication skills to the next step this is a great opportunity to learn about the city, country and its people side by side with an experienced pro photographer.

We are offering several different itineraries depending on the day of the week and interests of the client, the tour is fully customizable according to the interests and level of the clients.

PS: This tour adheres to the strict cancellation policy, minimum 2 participants needed for the tour. If you book for 1 and we can't get at least one more booking for the same day, you'll be offered a 2,5 hours private photo tour instead OR the tour will be canceled.

I took a personal photo tour with Kemal during my visit to Istanbul and although it wasn't my first time in the city Kemal managed to surprise me with visits to new, colorful and photogenic places that I had never been to before. He coached me with technical photographic knowledge and techniques and was very friendly and professional. I took away many beautiful images that I wouldn't have taken them without this tour.

A fantastic day! Kemal took us to many interesting, visually rich locations just behind the main streets. Places where people were making different things - places that tourists would never normally see. Lots of advice on different shooting techniques to use for different circumstances. Elements to look for when deciding on composition. Even some ideas on psychology to employ when photographing people. Tour was very enjoyable, Kemal struck a nice balance between friendly and professional. Did tour on day 1 of my holiday to Istanbul, and not only did I feel familiar with many areas, I was able to practice my newly learned skills/techniques for the rest of my trip. Definitely made me more confident with my photography.

Kemal did a great job leading our private photo tour. He took us to several "secret" places off the beaten path and was very knowledgeable and helpful on how to get the best shots. He was flexible and wanted us to see (and shoot) the things we wanted instead of taking us to where the guidebook said we needed to see. If you are a serious amateur photographer, you can learn a lot from Kemal about photography plus get to see interesting places in Istanbul. He offers a variety of tours to different parts of the city so next time we are here we will try another one of his tours. Highly recommended!
