Urban photography is about capturing the contrast between architecture and people; how humans adapt to environments we've created ourselves. And with its dramatic buildings and diverse population, New York is the perfect model for budding urban photographers. Giovanni is a New Yorker through and through, and he knows his city inside-out. On his photojournalist's tour, you won't only improve as a photographer - you'll see New York in a whole new light.
On hiatus until July.
Urban dwellers and travelers with an interest in human stories and their visual representation, take note. On this photo tour through lesser known areas of New York, you'll be led and assisted by a veteran NYC photojournalist and street photographer whose background began in music and developed through various media outlets including television and cinema, ultimately leading to photography. During the trip, study and capture street life and art, multicultural neighborhoods, urban archeology and more.
Trips can be customized based on interest and type of group. Locations options include Manhattan, the Bronx and Queens. Other visually diverse neighborhoods include the Lower East Side, Chinatown, Harlem and Inwood.
Participants must be 17 or older. Amateurs and professionals are welcome.
Bring a camera and dress comfortably for the weather.
